Jumping for a good cause!

After much anticipation, and plenty of practise sessions this term, the day finally arrived for our Junior School Jump Off, in support of the Heart Foundation!

Did you know that more than half a million Australians live with the painful impact of heart disease? The Heart Foundation raises money every year to support research into heart disease, and Calderwood Christian School has been involved in this cause for many years, through the annual Jump Rope for Heart program.

Students from across our whole Junior School came together on Friday 26 March to showcase their skipping skills and perform in front of an eager and appreciative audience of parents and friends.

After weeks of regular practising, there was plenty to celebrate in the skipping showcase. Keen jumpers treated the audience to balancing tricks, backwards skipping and double dutch, skipping with both individual and group ropes. Our youngest students weren't left out of the action either, eagerly jumping over the wriggling skipping ropes and hoops on the floor.

This year, as a school we set ourselves a target: to raise $6000 to donate to the Heart Foundation. We're pleased to announce that we have exceeded this goal, but there's still time to donate to this great cause! Visit the Heart Foundation for more information.
